Engaging patients to move from awareness to action on skin cancer

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. But early detection remains a major challenge, because it relies on patients noticing changes to their skin and seeking care in time.

Phreesia Network Solutions surveyed more than 3,300 patients to better understand where gaps in awareness lie and how meaningful patient education could support better outcomes. The findings reveal an important disconnect: While 89% of respondents know skin cancer can affect all skin tones, fewer than 1 in 5 are very familiar with its symptoms.
